Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem achieved something incredible over the weekend. He won a silver medal for Pakistan in the Javelin Throw competition at the World Athletics Championship. His impressive throw of 87.82 meters took place in the beautiful city of Budapest in Hungary. This remarkable achievement is particularly special because it’s the very first medal that Pakistan has ever won in the World Athletics Championship.
Neeraj Chopra of India won the gold with a noteworthy throw of 88.17 meters. Arshad Nadeem got off to a shaky start in the competition with a throw that only went 74.80 meters. He made a tremendous return, though, and on his second try, he impressively clocked 82.81 meters.
Nadeem’s breakthrough came on his third throw, which was his best of the season and covered an amazing distance of 87.82 meters.
He managed to throw 81.86 meters on his sixth and final attempt, despite missing the 80-meter threshold in his fifth effort. The 26-year-old athlete fell short of his goals as he only covered 87.12 meters on his fourth attempt.
