According to a report by the Mirror, Cristiano Ronaldo playfully teased his long-time rival Lionel Messi, stating that the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr is “much better” than the MLS. This comment came after Messi’s official signing with Inter Miami until 2025 following his departure from Paris St-Germain (PSG) at the end of the 2022-23 season.
Ronaldo expressed his belief that the Saudi league is superior to the United States’ MLS, and his decision to join Al-Nassr was crucial for attracting top players to the club. He shared his confidence that more stars will be drawn to the Saudi league in the upcoming season.
Moreover, Ronaldo asserted that he is certain he will not return to any European club, and he believes that some of Europe’s leagues will be overtaken by the Saudi division. He praised the English Premier League for maintaining its quality, but he feels that European football has lost much of its allure.
Ronaldo signed with Saudi club Al-Nassr in a substantial deal in December the previous year, committing to a contract that extends until June 2025.
